CII to hold virtual Tea Conclave from September 1 – The Economic Times

GUWAHATI: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise a virtual Tea Conclave from 1st September to 30th November, the first of its kind which will have digital conferences, exhibition of different varieties of tea, products related to tea industry, and have a buyer-seller meet spread over a period of 90 days.

The CII in the past has organized eight tea conclaves – five in Siliguri and two in Guwahati.

Bidyananda Barkakoty, Chairman, CII North East Tea Panel said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this tea conclave will be a virtual one and will have virtual stalls similar to regular exhibitions. Producers and manufacturers will be able to display their products in the stalls. Buyers and tea connoisseurs can visit the stalls.

There will be Buyers–Sellers Meet, both B2B and B2C. This platform will also be an opportunity to launch new products as well as for start-ups & innovators.

Barkakoty added that this digital conclave will be attended by Central and State Government policy makers, Tea Board officials, tea producers, small tea growers, tea buyers & traders, tea packers, tea brokers, tea wholesalers, tea retailers & tea cafes, tea machinery manufacturers, tea implements manufacturers, any products related to tea, tea research organisations, tea auction organisers, educational institutes, tea associations, tea customers, banks and financial institutions .

Overseas delegates will also be invited to participate in this tea conclave. The tag line of the conclave is Chai Piyo Swasth Raho (Drink tea and remain healthy).
