Earthquake strikes near Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir

An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred near Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir at 2.12 am on Wednesday, according to National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

According to NCS, the quake occurred 84 kilometers West of South-West from Rajouri. Its epicenter was 10 kilometers deep.

There were no immediate reports of loss of life or property.

Another earthquake was reported from Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday morning.

Earlier, a medium-intensity earthquake of magnitude 4.5 had hit Ladakh on July 2.

The Himalayan region is highly prone to earthquakes.
