Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, is scheduled to address six public rallies in West Bengal on December 19th. The rallies are intended to drum up support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections in the state. Shah is also likely to meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar during his visit. This is the third visit by Shah to the state since November.
